You have to search for blood at the cost of ruining the Kaput's sample. You have to kill some Archane and find seven Bloods of Archane within sixty minutes and return to Kaput within the alloted time.
If you head West from the lab and turn Northwest at the crossroads, keep following this route until you find the Archane Guardians around the Vruion Forest hill.
